EVENT PHOTOS - Heritage Open Day event 22nd Sept 2019
This year for our Heritage Open Day we celebrated 10 years since the garden was formed in 2009. Even though the weather forecast was very wet, on the actual day we only had some occasional light showers. We enjoyed a delicious cake made locally and cut by our refreshments manager Lesley and the Mayor of Hastings Nigel Sinden. It did not last!
This year's celebration was in connection with the Heritage Open Days theme of "People Power", and also linked to Hastings Sustainability on Sea Festival.
We had talks from Anna Locke on the mini fruit area in the garden that she is creating and on the beginnings of the BWGA by Bob Hart (one of the garden's founder members). Music was from Ben Fairlight and Sax with a Twist played a mix of blues, jazz, pop and show tunes.
Our members made a mosaic, embroidery and a timeline to show the achievements over the last 10 years.
Funds raised before expenses were £446.78
Thanks to all who made this another successful and enjoyable day.
