EVENT PHOTOS - Pumpkin Day 30th October 2022

Our annual event proved very successful. It rained during the setup, but for the event (11am to 1pm) it stopped. We put up four marquees to provide some shelter from the rain. Pumpkin soup was served with crusty bread. Traditional and Ghost Pumpkins were carved and we had a craft activity making masks.

We were grateful to our local supermarkets Lidl and Morrisons who donated pumpkins for us to use. We attempted to grow some pumpkins in the garden as usual, but they weren't suitable and probably affected by the hot weather throughout the summer months and a lack of water in the garden.

Our dedicated volunteers made in excess of 20pints of homemade pumpkin soup which all went.   42 pumpkins were carved.   Numbers attending: 70 Adults 55 Children.

Thanks to those attending we collected £211 for garden funds (less expenses).
