EVENT PHOTOS - Spring Open Day event 19th May 2019

We were lucky once more, the forecast showers did not arrive, and we had a beautiful open day and Spring Celebration on 19 May. Over 200 visitors came and enjoyed marvelous cakes and snacks prepared by our members and participated in the various activities throughout the day.

They planted seeds and helped us create stunning bunting to use for our future events and bought many of the plants on sale. James Mellors gave a lively talk about organic gardening filled with great tips for natural fertilising, pest control, companion planting and space saving measures. The wonderful SeaTones ended the day with feelgood songs and harmonies that got feet tapping and heads bopping!

As ever, we are grateful for all our visitors' interest and generosity, and special thanks goes to our members who stocked the event with homemade cakes and other treats, and most especially to the eighteen volunteers who gave their time to make the event happen. We received just over £700 from cake and plant sales as well as donations. All this is invaluable to the maintenance of the garden and future projects.
